The Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association Atlanta Chapter, Inc. — commonly known as JESAAC or JESA Atlanta Chapter — is an organization established in the State of Georgia, USA, dedicated to the welfare of current and ex-service members of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and their communities.
JESA Atlanta Chapter brings together JDF veterans living in the Atlanta metropolitan area and surrounding regions, creating a vibrant community of service, fellowship, and giving.
JESAAC operates under a formal constitution that outlines our objectives, governance structure, and code of ethics. Key commitments include:
The Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association Atlanta Chapter (JESAAC) was established to create resources to assist in the developmental process of current and ex-service members, families, friends and communities, by assisting in their wellbeing, especially in times of need and creating programs that will impact lives and social wellbeing. This will be done through volunteerism, fundraising, training and public relations efforts.
To inspire all members of our JESA chapter to bring out the best in each other so that we can create a truly inspired and homogenous platform for the achievement of our goals and aspirations and to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate and beyond.
Six core objectives from the JESAAC Constitution that define our work in the community
Engaging in community development activities which enhance the educational, cultural, social and civil activities, providing scholarships, bursaries and incentives to assist the educational needs of Ex-Service members, their children, and the wider community.
Providing humanitarian assistance to communities in Georgia and Jamaica, extending a hand of support across borders to uplift those who need it most.
Relieving poverty by providing food and other basic necessities to persons in need, including relief for victims of natural disasters, based on the availability of resources.
Assisting in relieving suffering and disability caused by old age, including facilities for care, maintenance, and rehabilitation of Ex-Service Men & Women of the JDF.
Forming a bond between current and ex-service men and women of the JDF in and around Atlanta, Georgia — a lasting network that carries the spirit of service forward.
Carrying out objectives through responsible social fundraising and projects in a manner that does not violate the creed of JESAAC or discredit the name of the Jamaica Defence Force.
JESAAC is governed by nine duly elected officers serving two-year terms. All elected members take an oath of office.
The President of the Association shall be an Ex-Soldier of the Jamaica Defence Force. No Ex-Officer shall hold the post of President of JESA. (Article V.09)
